Subaru Liberty MY04
In July 2008, I took ownership of my second car – a Subaru Liberty MY04 Luxury.
I was a fan of the 4th Generation Liberty look for a long time, so when it came to upgrading cars, the Liberty was the natural choice. Although I looked at a few different cars, the Liberty always seemed to remain at the front of my mind. So I found one I liked, and that’s the car featured here today.

I picked up my Liberty from a dealership for around the $20k mark. The Liberty I bought is the Luxury pack so it came standard with leather, 6-stacker, dual exhausts and plenty of electronics. It’s a 4GEN MY04 model, sedan, sports automatic and being a Subaru, all-wheel-drive.

My Liberty has the 2.5-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine. This engine has an overhead cam with 121kW (at 5600rpm) and 226Nm (4400rpm). It’s a high revving engine and goes very nice for a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder. It’s smooth and peaky. The modifications I have done so far are a HKS panel filter, removal of the intake resonator, twin Super Cat Performance mufflers, LUK3Y personalised plates and darkest legal window tint.

Some of the key features of the Liberty are 17-inch wheels, 6-stacker 6-speaker stereo system, climate control, cruise control, drive by wire, electric drivers seat, dual and side airbags, dual exhausts, fog lamps, integrated side-mirror indicators, leather steering wheel, leather trim, power windows and sequential shift.
